Palestinian militants blew up a bomb near an Israeli military position east of Gaza City today, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.
The explosion occurred near an army post on a road linking the Netzarim Jewish settlement to Israel, witnesses said.
The Israeli army said it did not know of any casualties. Elsewhere in Gaza, Israeli troops killed five Palestinians while raiding the city of Khan Younis.
The army said the raid was launched to root out militants behind mortar and rocket fire on nearby Jewish settlements.
