Show jumping: In a nail-biting finish to the Aga Khan Nations Cup event at the RDS this afternoon the German team emerged triumphant but both the Dutch and Irish gave them a run for their money.

It was a clear round that Heinrich Egermann that gave the German's their victory but any of the three teams could have won it as the final riderrs went out to jump.

Rank outsiders Holland will regret not capitalising on their early position - with two riders to go they were leading on zero points.

One clear round would have won the Aga Khan Trophy for them but Wim Schroeder picked up four faults and then Gereo Schroeder followed that with a disastorous 12 points picked up at the combination.

Ireland with five points were also in the final shake-up but were consigned to third following Egermann's faultless round. Cian O'Connor jumping on Irish Independent Echo Beach had two clear rounds.
