There are daily scheduled services from both Heathrow and Stansted, and due to increased business between Ireland and Luxembourg, Luxair hopes to have a regular service between the two capitals in the not too distant future. A train from Paris goes thorough picturesque northern European vistas and takes about 3 1/2 hours, at a cost of £25 one way.

Language: English is widely spoken, although French is official.

Currency: Belgian currency is usually recommended for outside visitors, as this is easier to change. The rate is about 50 Belgian francs to the punt.

Accommodation: the Luxembourg City Tourist Office, Place d'Armes, BP 181, L-2011 Luxembourg, tel (352) 22 2809, can help. There are a number of reasonably priced hostelries, especially in the area near the railway station. Around £30 should get you good bed and breakfast.
