A three-year-old girl who was drowned in the River Suir at Clonmel on Friday evening is to be buried in the town this morning. Bridget Hawkins, from Elm Park, died after falling into the river while out walking with her mother.
The child's mother, Ms Margaret Hawkins, and father, Mr Johnny Quinn, were comforted by friends over the weekend.
The accident occurred on a stretch of the Suir behind Davis Road.
The child's remains were removed from O'Donoghue's Funeral Home to St Oliver's Parish Church yesterday evening. She will be buried in St Patrick's Cemetery following Mass of the Angels at 11 a.m.
