RACING: Officials at Gowran Park expect the track to be able to handle any further rain ahead of their biggest meeting of the year on Thursday, which features the Ellen Construction Thyestes Chase.
Following an inspection at the Co Kilkenny track, the ground was found to be heavy but fit for racing.
Margaret Fogarty, racecourse manager, said “We have been fortunate not to have had any rain since early on Monday morning last and as a result our ground has had a chance to recover.
“No further rain is forecast until late on Wednesday but this rainfall is expected over 12-15 hours and the track should cope with this gradual rainfall.”
