Greencore names new CFO

Greencore has appointed Alan Williams as chief financial officer.

Mr Williams, who will take up his position on March 7th, will replace acting chief financial officer Imelda Hurley who has been in the position since the departure of Geoff Doherty in December last year.

41-year old Alan Williams is a former senior executive with Cadbury. During his 18 years with the company he served as head of finance for Cadbury's US confectionary operations and its French beverages business. More recently he was global finance director.

"We are delighted that Alan will be joining Greencore" Greencore chief executive Patrick Coveney said in a statement this morning. "He has extensive experience in the food and beverage sector at Cadbury combined with an extraordinary range of financial expertise both in the central finance functions and as an operational finance director. He will be a great addition to the senior leadership team at Greencore."

Imelda Hurley will become take up the position of group finance director.

Geoff Doherty announced his intention to depart the company in July last year, having been with the company since 2001.
