Green Party leader Mr Trevor Sargent has called on undecided voters to favour his party in the local and European elections on Friday.

Wrapping up the party's campaign, Mr Sargent said a vote for the Green Party would be a vote for "hard-working campaigners who set the agenda by asking the questions people want answered in Europe and in local councils".

The Greens face a battle for fourth European seat in Dublin with Sinn Féin. "If it comes down to a choice then we are calling on voters to choose strong environmental candidates with proven hard working track records," Party Chairman, Mr John Gormley, said.

Green Party Director of Elections, Eamon Ryan TD, said, Green Party councilors had "a strong record of making positive contributions on councils throughout the country."
