West Ham United have confirmed they will take internal disciplinary action against an unnamed player after an incident at a nightclub during the Hammers' Christmas party.
Today's edition of the Evening Standardnewspaper revealed that a West Ham player was ejected from the Sugar Reed club after allegedly urinating at the bar on December 18th.
The paper said a group of 18 first-squad members, including a number of England internationals, were ejected after the alcohol-fuelled antics that saw players vomiting over seats and tables.
However, a statement from West Ham would only say that a "minor incident" occurred at the nightspot.
"West Ham United FC can confirm that the playing squad held their Christmas party on Tuesday evening," a club statement said. "Unfortunately a minor incident occurred after the majority of the players had left for home and following this incident it was decided that the party should leave the club.
"The team manager [Glenn Roeder] will deal with the player involved in this incident in the appropriate manner. No other action will be taken against any other member of the squad," the statement said.
