LET'S not get precious about this sometimes gold just doesn't look right. And that's especially true this summer, when lightweight dressing can make gold jewellery look oppressively heavy and substantial. Suddenly silver, for too long the poor relation in the metal family, seems both literally and metaphorically cool.
As far as accessories are concerned, at the moment silver is perfect. You'll find it turning up on belts (especially of the hipster variety), on 1996's favourite loafers and most of all around necks and wrists. Don't be dainty with these pieces they're much more effective when the shape is chunky and robust. On the other hand, it's neither advisable nor necessary to spend a fortune this is transient fashion we're talking about, after all. Which makes this bracelet perfect for the next couple of months. It looks like silver but costs nothing like the real thing. So when the current fad has passed, you needn't feel guilty about taking it off and waiting for the next time there's a run on silver.
