Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?

I would certainly strive for that – though maybe I strive to be healthy all the time as opposed to actually being healthy all the time!

How often do you exercise?

The snow over the winter really put the kibosh on the exercise plan. When I was asked to be involved in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon again I said, “Thank God, I’ve an excuse to get out and do something again!”

Now I meet a friend for a five-mile walk in the Phoenix Park and I’m back cycling again.

I do a spinning class – I hate it when I’m doing it but I know it makes me really fit.

Do you get your five a day?

I’m not big on fruit in the morning when it’s cold, but I’ll throw a couple of mandarins in the bag.

If I’m working at home, I’ll have a salad for lunch and broccoli with dinner. If I’m on the road, I might not eat vegetables or fruit for the day, so the next day I’ll try to get some.

Do you worry?

Most of the time I have a fairly sunny disposition. I got sucked into reading The Secret and whether or not there’s any truth in it, I do think it’s healthier to be positive. I don’t think there’s any advantage to thinking negatively – it’s a habit I’ve kind of trained myself out of.

What do you do to relax?

I love getting a deep tissue massage where they knock the lumps out of you – I feel amazing afterwards.

The ultimate relaxation is going to the cinema by myself. The phone is off and you don’t have to make conversation with anyone. I love going out with my mates too – for dinner or lunch or just tea and buns.

What's your unhealthiest habit?

I’m terrible for the salt – it’s a family habit. I remember my grandmother pouring salt on her dinner and we’d be going, “Granny, too much salt!”, but we’ve picked up that habit.

I don’t think I can end a meal unless I’ve had something sweet. I find I’m mad for sugary stuff at night.
