No travel for treatment

The launch of three primary care teams in West Cork today including the provision of wound and ulcer clinics means that patients can be treated in the locality and not have to travel over 140 miles to Cork city for treatment. The new primary care teams, which will cover Dunmanway, Skibbereen and the Mizen Peninsula, will involve local participating GPs and a number of HSE professionals including physios, occupational nurses, public health nurses, RGNs and practice nurses.

Dental experts from Ireland are to provide post-graduate training for dentists from around the world at the largest dental school in the US.

The Faculty of Dentistry at the RCSI and the College of Dentistry, New York University, recently signed an agreement covering training in the specialty of oral surgery.
