Henry to name Lions team on Friday

Lions coach Graham Henry has delayed naming his team for the second test against Australia in Melbourne until Friday.

Lions coach Graham Henry has delayed naming his team for the second test against Australia in Melbourne until Friday.

Henry had been expected to reveal his team today but announced a 27-man squad instead. The large contingent includes all 22 players on duty for the first test in Brisbane last weekend.

There are five uncapped test Lions in the squad - Ben Cohen, Darren Morris, Dorian West, David Wallace and Martyn Williams.

Neil Back is in the squad after missing out in Brisbane because of a rib injury, and the Lions are hoping full-back Matt Perry will make it.

Perry went off at half-time with a groin muscle injury last Saturday, and has so far been unable to train this week.

"Matt is coming in at about 90 per cent and we felt there was no point risking him in training," said Henry.

Centre Will Greenwood (ankle), lock Scott Murray (ribs) and David Young (calf strain) were not considered.

Lions manager Donal Lenihan denied the delay was an attempt by the tourists to play mind games with the world champion Wallabies, whose coach Rod Macqueen today revealed a side showing three changes.
