Hollywood - Expect to see the world-famous "Hollywood" sign now in promotional advertisements reporting that an anonymous sponsor has paid a six-figure sum to "adopt" it for one year.
For $100,000 the sponsor is allowed to mention that it has adopted "Hollywood" and may use it in advertising.
The QVC television shopping network had put the 137m sign up for sale last Friday in an effort to ensure the structure's maintenance.
