Soccer:Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that striker Gary Hooper has completed his move from Scunthorpe and will join the squad for the Champions League tie against Braga.
The 22-year-old, who is believed to have cost the club €2.5 million, is due to arrive at Glasgow airport this morning to meet up with his new team mates before they fly to Portugal. Hooper is the sixth summer signing of Celtic’s new manager Neil Lennon.
Mexico midfielder Efrain Juarez, who completed his move to the Parkhead club on Monday, was part of the Celtic travelling party as was other new boys Charlie Mulgrew, Cha Du-Ri, Joe Ledley and Daryl Murphy.
Republic of Ireland midfielder Aiden McGeady, who missed the pre-season trip to North America and Saturday’s friendly against Lincoln due to a thigh injury, will also travel.
“We‘ve got so many good attacking options and McGeady is fit, which is a bonus,” Lennon said this morning.
