Horse trainer Mr Jim Bolger has been cleared by the High Court of having been responsible for the alleged poor running of a horse at Naas exactly five years ago. Ms Justice Macken yesterday overturned a decision of a stewards' inquiry held after the race and quashed a decision of the Turf Club which upheld that decision. She awarded Mr Bolger £11,000 special damages and said he was entitled to recover a £1,000 fine. She held he was entitled to legal costs.
