Kerry produced their best performance of the season to secure an All-Ireland quarter-final meeting against Armagh with a 4-11 to 1-11 victory over Longford in Killarney today.

Eoin Brosnan scored three fine goals but it was full forward Kieran Donaghy's inspired performance which ultimately rattled Longford and paved the way for Kerry's victory.

Indeed, after just 12 minutes the giant full forward had set up Brosnan for two smart goals while he also assisted Mike Frank Russell in an early point.

Paul Barden scored three quick points to keep Longford's tally ticking over but those early Kerry goals were a huge blow to Luke Dempsey's side who struggled to get back on track.

Donaghy was also behind Colm Cooper's goal shortly before the break which Kerry eventually went in for with a nine point lead.

Longford upped their performance early in the second half, but despite their tenacity and willingness to probe they registered just two scores for their efforts.

The writing was well and truly on the wall some 10 minutes from time when Donaghy and Cooper combined to set Brosnan in on goal for his third of the day.

In this evening's other qualifier, Westmeath booked a quarter-final showdown with Dublin after dumping Galway out of the championship at Pearse Park.

Gary Dolan's 55th minute goal proved vital for Westmeath as they edged out the Tribesmen 1-8 to 0-10 in Salthill despite a late comeback from the Connacht side.
