Dutch party chief accuses judges of bias

AMSTERDAM – Dutch anti-Islamist politician Geert Wilders, a key player in efforts to form a new government, has accused judges trying him on charges of inciting hatred of scandalous bias and demanded they be replaced.

Mr Wilders, who has a 24-hour police guard because of death threats, went on trial on Monday over comments he made, including a comparison he made between the Islamic faith and Nazism. – (Reuters)

Eight killed in drone strike

MIRANSHAH – A suspected US drone strike killed eight militants of German nationality in northwest Pakistan on Monday, Pakistani intelligence officials said.

They were killed when two missiles from a suspected CIA pilotless aircraft struck a mosque in Mirali in North Waziristan. The US has stepped up drone attacks in the area recently. – (Reuters)
