Judge adjourns Piggott case
A case in which RTÉ’s horse-racing correspondent Tracy Piggott is suing her former partner over remarks he allegedly made to journalists was adjourned yesterday at the High Court.
Ms Piggott has brought a defamation action against Stephen Mahon, with whom she has a daughter.
Ms Justice Mary Laffoy was told by a solicitor for Ms Piggott an adjournment was needed to serve papers on Mr Mahon. The judge adjourned the case to November 1st.
Two men plead not guilty to murder
Two men have pleaded not guilty to murdering a mother of two whose remains were found in the boot of her burnt-out car in Co Wexford last year.
Ruslanas Mineikas (25) with an address in Wexford town, and Ricardas Dilys (27) of Davitt Road South, Wexford town, both Lithuanian nationals, are charged with murdering 30-year-old Rebecca French on October 9th, 2009.
The trial at the Central Criminal Court begins today.
