Police in Indian administered Kashmir said today they arrested three people as part of their investigation into the suicide attack on the Indian parliament last Thursday.

Following leads from New Delhi, three people were arrested yesterday in Baramulla district. Police are investigating their links with the attack, a police source said.

Baramulla district lies north of Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

Twelve people, including all five assailants, were killed in a gunbattle when a suicide squad stormed the Indian parliamentary complex in New Delhi.

India blamed a Pakistan-based Islamic guerrilla group Lashkar-e-Taiba for the bloodbath, but the group has denied responsibility.
