Some pleasantly surprising Indian summer weather is on the way for the weekend, with Met Éireann forecasting temperatures of up to 22 degrees in parts of the country.
The forecaster said tomorrow will be generally dry with partly cloudy skies and top temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees, highest in western areas. There will be some rain at times in the south west, it said.
Met Éireann said Sunday will be a warm, humid day and dry in most places, with some bright or sunny periods. It will be cloudy in the far southwest - mainly the southern parts of Kerry and Cork.
Early rain in these areas should give way to dry weather as the day progresses. Again, temperatures will continue “well above normal” – peaking at between 17 and 20 degrees, Met Éireann said.
On the traffic front, Supertramp play the 02 in Dublin tonight and traffic is likely to be heavy in the area before and after the concert.
In Galway, the Ballinasloe Horse Fair and Festival continues this weekend. Some 40,000 people are expected to visit tomorrow and peak traffic delays are likely from 6am-midday and 5.30-8.30pm.
Beef Expo Ireland takes place at Cillin Hill in Kilkenny tomorrow and Sunday.
