There were no qualified medical personnel at a private clinic where a young woman was being given counselling for anorexia, an inquest heard today.

The Dublin City Coroner said Ms Lynne Godfrey (20), had died from complications of severe anorexia on September 6th, 2002.

Ms Godfrey, from Carnlough Road, Cabra, in Dublin, had been attending the Marino Therapy Centre in Dublin for five months.

She first attended the centre on April 10th of that year for private therapy sessions and she began seeing a GP recommended by the centre, Dr Tariq Zourab.

The court heard that over the five months she attended she continued to lose weight.

The centre's founder and director Ms Marie Campion said the 12 psychotherapists at the centre had no formal medical training and operated a practice of not weighing people.
