An inquest into the death of a four-year-old boy, who died on a building site at Ballymun, Dublin, in August was opened and adjourned yesterday due to the ongoing Garda investigation.

Alex Cuthbert of Eamonn, Ceannt Tower, Ballymun, died when he was struck by a vehicle at the site on August 22nd.

The Dublin City Coroner, Dr Brian Farrell, opened the inquest and took preliminary evidence in order that a death certificate may be issued.

The inquest was adjourned to March 27th 2002.
