Shiraz - An appeals court yesterday cut years off the prison terms of 10 Iranian Jews convicted of spying for Israel in a case that put the world spotlight on the workings of Iran's justice system.
But the defence team, which in a dramatic 11th-hour allegation this week said it had been pressured by court officials to admit its clients were indeed spies, immediately expressed its unhappiness with the ruling.
Israel voiced "profound concern", again protested the Jews' innocence and dismissed cuts in their sentences as "cosmetic".
