DUBLIN The Department of Foreign Affairs has been asked to investigate whether Irish-made military equipment has been used in Turkey's air raids on Kurdish villages in northern Iraq this week, David Shanks reports. AFrI (Action From Ireland) said in a statement that it had already shown how airforce equipment had been exported under licence from Ireland to Turkey.

The Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Spring, said last month that Ireland had no arms industry. Yet AFrl said that the bombing was carried out "almost certainly with the assistance of Irish-made technology".
