A Colin Cryan goal early in the second half earned the Republic of Ireland under-21s a 1-1 draw with Georgia under-21s at Buckley Park in Kilkenny.

Ireland were poor in the first half but took the game to the visitors in the second and, even after Keith Gilroy was sent off, looked the more likely side to win the game.

In the 73rd minute, Cryan almost grabbed his second when he rose to head Reid's corner only for Mamaladze to pull off a wonderful save while Ireland also created a number of other opportunities with Reid in particular looking dangerous.

Georgia, despite their numerical advantage, did not really threaten other than their goal that came from Akhalaia in the 25th minute.
