Ireland ranking in a list of the best places in the world to do business has dropped from 5 thto 12 th, according to a recent survey published by the Economist Intelligence Unit.

The report examines business factors such as a country's level of democracy, information and communications technology, market potential, infrastructure, skills and political environment.

For the fourth consecutive year Denmark is in first place as the number one country in which to do business.

Britain's global ranking has seen it fall to 10 thfrom 5th in 2002-06. According to a briefing note from the Economist Britain's attractiveness as a business location is set to worsen due to a deterioration in the quality of the country's business environment at a time when microeconomic reforms are improving the business climates in other countries.
