DUBLIN - The Government has been urged to use its influence during the EU presidency to implement a total arms embargo by EU member states on Indonesia, David Shanks reports.

Ms Pat Gaffney, head of Pax Christi International in Britain, who recently visited East Timor, will speak at 7.30 p.m. tonight in Buswells Hotel, Dublin. She said effective implementation of the EU's Common Position on East Timor and UN Human Rights Commission decisions was "of the utmost importance" to the improvement of human rights in East Timor.
