Boy dies after collapsing at Co Down funfair

Child rushed to hospital from park at Central Promende, Newcastle

A boy has died in Co Down after collapsing at a funfair.

The PSNI said it was “ investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a child at premises in the Central Promende in Newcastle”.

It was reported that the boy appeared to faint during a family visit to the Pleasureland funfair.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the boy was taken to Royal Victoria Children’s Hospital in Belfast where he was later pronounced dead.
