Driver (22) seriously injured in crash in Co Carlow

Gardaí appeal for witnesses to incident on the Kilcummey area

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash in Co Carlow last night.

The 22-year-old was injured when the car he was driving left the road on the Bagnelstown to Borris Road in an area known as Kilcummey at around 9.50pm.

He was taken to hospital in Kilkenny where his condition is described as serious. Two male passengers in the car, aged 23 and 24, were also taken to hospital but their injuries are not serious.

The road remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
