The death of a young boy who fell ill in Dublin city centre is being investigated by An Garda Síochána.

The matter is being investigated in order to provide a report for the coroner.

The boy fell ill in the Ilac Centre in Dublin 1 at about 6.15pm on October 7th. He was brought to Temple Street children’s hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Iveagh Trust Football Club, which the boy was a member of, said it was “shocked and deeply saddened” at his death.

“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with [HIS]family, friends and clubmates,” the club said on Facebook. “As a result all games are off this weekend as a mark of respect.”
