Gardaí seek to identify body of woman found on Dublin beach

Remains found on rocks at Sandycove but indications body not in water for long time

Gardaí are seeking the public’s help in trying to identify a woman whose body was discovered on a beach in south Dublin.

Her body was found on Thursday morning on rocks at Scotsman's Bay, Sandycove. A postmortem showed she had drowned.

Red hair

She is described as between 50 and 60 years old and between 162.5cm (5’4”) and 167.5cm (5’6’’) in height, with red hair.

She was wearing a purple coat, a light blue fleece, a red shirt, dark purple jeans, navy socks and brown size 40 boots. Her fingernails where painted purple.

A Garda spokesman said it was not believed her body had been in the water for long.
