Have your say: Do you want to work until you’re 70?

New rules will allow State employees to work beyond 65. What do you think of that idea?

Do you want to work until you're 70? Newly announced rules will allow public-service employees to continue working after the traditional retirement age of 65 – if they want to. The change is to counter Ireland's "ageing society" trend, which in coming years will see the number of working people reduce and the number of retirees rise.

How do these changes affect your life? Is working until 70 an attractive prospect, or one that fills you with dread? Do you believe it’s good for your health to keep working? Or is it unfair? Share your situation, anonymously or on the record, using the form below.
