Man charged in connection with fatal stabbing in Co Clare

21-year-old will appear at Ennis District Court on charges over death of Karl Haugh

A man will appear before on Tuesday morning in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Kilkee, Co Clare.

Gardaí investigating the death of Karl Haugh (25) have charged a 21-year-old man in connection with the stabbing, which took place near the Haugh family home at Marion Estate in Kilkee, at about 1.15am on Sunday.

The man is due before Ennis District Court at 11am.

Two other men who were arrested in connection with the investigation into Mr Haugh’s death have been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Haugh is understood to have been stabbed once in the back and died at 6am on Sunday during surgery at University Hospital Limerick.
