Man killed in overnight Meath crash

A 21 year-old male driver was fatally injured when the car he was driving went into a ditch

A motorist was killed and five other people were injured in a crash in Co Meath in the early hours of this morning.

The crash happened on the R147 Dunshaughlin to Dunboyne road at about 12.30am.

A 21 year-old male driver was fatally injured when the car he was driving went into a ditch. Three men and two women who were also in the car were injured. Gardaí said their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
