Services to and from Heuston station have resumed following a fatality near Sallins earlier today.
A spokeswoman for Irish Rail said "everything is back moving" but that passengers should still expect "significant delays".
The “majority of services” will be affected, but trains due to leave from 9pm should run on time.

“Services in general will be impacted for the remainder of the evening,” she said. “The last few (services) will operate normally but the majority of services this evening will be disrupted.
“The delays will start to ease out. There hasn’t been a train out since 3.30pm so we’ll start amalgamating services to try and provide as much service as we can.
“The 9pm service this evening will operate on time, but anything in the next hour or two will have significant delays.”
Dublin Bus will accept customers rail tickets for the evening and people can use their rail tickets for travel tomorrow if they wish.
