An underground cannabis factory has been uncovered by the PSNI near Maghera, Co Derry. A total of 120 plants were discovered when police searched a premises at Moneysharvin Road on Tuesday.

The plants have an estimated value of €80,000.

Det Sgt Kelly Gallagher, from the PSNI reactive and organised crime branch at Coleraine, said the discovery followed from the arrest of a man on Sunday. He said a small amount of cannabis was found after stopping of a vehicle at Portstewart Road, Coleraine.

Two men have been given bail for two weeks to allow financial checks to be completed and the scene to be fully checked.
