A busy morning on the track at the Bird's Nest tomorrow sees David Gillick, Paul Hession and Eileen O'Keefe get their first taste of action in Beijing.
Hession and Gillick can be reasonably confident of progressing from their respective heats but O'Keeffe's preparations for the hammer throw have been hampered by a knee injury and making it out of the qualification group will be a tall order.
Light winds last week and high winds over the weekend have caused major headaches for the sailing officials at Quingdao with a number of cancellations and postponements. As it stands, Ciara Peelo is due to wrap up her campaign tomorrow morning and appears out of the running for Tuesday's medal race.
Stephen Milne and Peter O'Leary are scheduled to have their eighth race of the Star campaign on Tuesday but, as ever, this remains subject to change as the organisers chop and change the programme due to the adverse conditions on the Yellow Sea.
The excitement, meanwhile, continues to build for the first two of three Irish boxers involved in Tuesday's quarter-finals.
Belfast Light Flyweight Paddy Barnes is first up at the Workers' Gymnasium when he faces Poland's Lukasz Maszczyk. And team captain Kenny Egan takes to the ring shortly afterwards with Brazil's Washington Silva standing between him and a place on the podium.
