The death has occurred in New York of an Irish journalist, Kevin McHugh. Mr McHugh, arts and entertainment editor of the weekly Irish Echo newspaper, died of natural causes on Wednesday. He was aged 27.
Mr McHugh was born in Zambia, where his parents were living at the time. His family now lives in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal. Mr McHugh is survived by his wife Paola, a native of Santiago, Chile, and his son John.
Mr McHugh worked with the Irish Echo for the past five years and reported from the United States for a number of Irish publications, including The Irish Times.
