Irish language writer dies

One of the most prolific writers in the Irish language has died

One of the most prolific writers in the Irish language has died. Born in Weston Super Mare, England, to an English father and an Irish mother, Cathal O Sandair was the creator of the Reics Carlo series of detective novels for children.

He had more than 160 books published and his titles sold more than 500,000 copies.

Mr O Sandair, who was 74, is survived by his wife, Mary, and four children.
