Dublin based e-commerce company MobileAware has been chosen by Portuguese 3G operator OniWay to support its next-generation multi-channel portal offering.

The solution will enable OniWay to become the first operator in Portugal to offer mobile Internet services across a UMTS network.

This is the second major contract win for MobileAware in the 3G operator market and follows the successful installation and deployment of Everix for Xfera Moviles, a Spanish 3G operator that is part-owned by Sonera and Vivendi.

MobileAware chief executive Mr David McGeough said: "This is a landmark deal for MobileAware which endorses our position as the European market leader in the provision of mobility products".
