Dublin - The Department of Foreign Affairs has warned Irish travellers of increased tensions in Turkey following the arrest of the Kurdish Workers' Party leader, Mr Abdullah Ocalan, and recent threats against tourists.

"Visitors should be vigilant at all times and avoid public gatherings or protests, and follow the advice of their tour operators and that of travel representatives," a statement said.
