Israeli troops shot dead two Palestinians in a West Bank refugee camp today.
Witnesses described them as stone-throwers, the army said they had been planting explosives.
Palestinian medics and witnesses said soldiers had been searching for suspected militants in the Balata camp when they came across stone-throwing youths and opened fire, killing two 18-year-olds.
The Israeli army said two men were spotted planting an explosives device and the soldiers shot them.
Earlier, an Israeli air strike killed two Palestinian near the Gaza Strip boundary. Military sources said an aircraft fired at a group of Palestinians suspected of planting a bomb near the Kissufim border crossing.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli troops arrested a suspected militant and another Palestinian at a checkpoint. The Israeli army said they were found with two knives.
Israeli forces also detained three Palestinians carrying several bombs near Jerusalem, a police spokesman said.
