El-Bireh - Israeli soldiers wounded nearly 100 Palestinians on the West Bank yesterday, while the US Middle East envoy Mr Dennis Ross insisted he was making "headway" in brokering an agreement.
Clashes erupted outside the Jewish settlement of Psagot, near el-Bireh, as a march of 3,000 Hamas supporters came to an end.
Israeli soldiers fired stun grenades, rubber-coated bullets and, according to the Palestinians, live ammunition when youths started throwing stones and molotov cocktails at the settlement.
