PREPARE for a month of Brad Pitt sightings, and an introduction or two to his girlfriend, Gwyneth Paltrow, who played his heady wife in Seven. The extremely handsome actor has taken a house in Enniskerry for a month while he's in Ireland filming the local scenes of his new movie Devil's Own. He plays a Provo Brad with a blas and the film also stars Harrison Ford who regrettably had no Irish scenes so didn't have to make the trip. One event Brad is likely to show at (according to the organisers well, they would say that ...) is the Billy Connolly charity night on July 31st in the Olympia in Dublin.
The big yin (is he still called that or have I made a sad nickname gaff?) had such a jolly time when he was here last playing an endless number of sell out gigs that he offered to come back and do a charity gig but only if the money was, going to something specific. The Variety Club came up with an extremely worthy short list including six super duper paediatric wheelchairs and an laser eye machine for Temple Street so Billy agreed to come at his own expense for the July show. (The thing every fund raiser fears is a celebrity who comes "free" but puts in a huge expense bill for himself and his entourage it has been known to happen.) The £20 tickets have sold out but there are £45 and £55 tickets left.
