Tokyo - Japanese state minister, Mr Fukushiro Nukaga (57) resigned yesterday. Mr Nukaga, who was in charge of economic, fiscal affairs and information technology policies, submitted his resignation before a cabinet meeting, the spokesman said.

The 57-year-old minister had been under pressure to step down over the alleged acceptance of questionable money from a scandal-tainted mutual aid foundation.
