The US ambassador to Israel has said Palestinian "terrorist murderers" had sunk to "a new depth of depravity" by bombing a Jerusalem university cafeteria.

Laying a wreath at Hebrew University a day after the lunchtime blast, which killed five Americans and two Israelis, Mr Daniel Kurtzer demanded immediate action by the Palestinians and Arab states to end 22 months of violence.
He made his comments before talks on the Middle East crisis between US President Bush and Jordan's King Abdullah in Washington later today.
"The terrorist murderers, those who sent them and those whose action and inaction contributed to this despicable act, have descended to a new depth of depravity," said Kurtzer, a former student at Hebrew University. "It is not enough that Palestinians and other Arabs have condemned this act of terrorism. It is absolutely imperative that they work actively to stop terrorism immediately," he said.
