The condition of Fine Gael TD Mr Jim Mitchell, who is recovering from a liver transplant at St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, continues to improve, his eldest daughter, Sinead, confirmed last night.
The Dublin Central TD received a phone-call on Monday evening which informed him that a suitable liver was available. He is one of five patients to have received a liver transplant at St Vincent's this month.
So far his medical team is pleased with Mr Mitchell's postoperative progress. But the family was taking it "one day at a time", she said
