A judge has been killed and three other people seriously injured following a shooting near a courthouse in downtown Atlanta this afternoon.
A spokesman for the Atlanta district attorney's confirmed the shootings but gave few details.
The shooting occurred around 2pm near the Fulton County courthouse, police said.
Reports said Judge Roland Barnes was killed and two deputies and a court reporter were shot and injured.

The extents of their injuries were not immediately known.
Witnesses said the suspect, named as Brian Nichols (34), carjacked a car, and authorities were searching for several vehicles reported stolen in the area.
The shooting started on the eighth floor of the courthouse shortly after 9am local time.
