John Parrott bowed out in the first round of the Embassy World Snooker Championship today for only the second time in his 18 appearances at the Crucible.
The 36-year-old Liverpudlian, the oldest man competing in Sheffield this year, lost 10-6 to Dublin's Michael Judge to become the first seed to exit the 2001 tournament.
In the other match of the morning session, Judge's fellow Dubliner Fergal O'Brien, the ninth seed, was 5-3 down against world number 22 Mark King of Romford. - PA
