A Dublin mother of two, who is alleged to have been found at Dublin Airport with drugs worth up to £1 million, has been refused bail in the High Court. Mr Justice O Caoimh heard that the drugs had been found on August 24th in luggage belonging to Ms Bridget Boyne (22), on her return from the West Indies.

Ms Boyne, with addresses in Darndale and Finglas, faces several charges, including one of possession of drugs with intent to supply. Garda Tracy Howard told the court she had received reliable information that Ms Boyne and the father of her children had a large stash of money, with which they intended to abscond.

Mr Michael Bowman, counsel for Ms Boyne, said e was of had a previous criminal disposition, and she history, his client had never previously come to the attention of the gardai. He said she had two young children, aged two and three. She had been in debt and had become vulnerable.

Judge O Caoimh said there was sufficient evidence for him to conclude that Ms Boyne would not stand her trial if awarded bail.
